Woman holding a bowl of blackberries while eating one

The Berry Snack Your Skin Will Love

Blackberry season is here, and I’m already plotting how to get my hands on enough before my son eats them all. And if you're not already snacking on these juicy little gems, consider this your sign.

Every Sunday, I head straight to Rose—my favorite fruit vendor at the Brentwood farmers’ market. She always sets aside the sweetest, plumpest blackberries just for me. She knows what’s up. Between my son and me, my husband’s lucky if he gets a handful. We go through them like Pac-Man on a mission.

But beyond being absolutely delicious, blackberries are a natural skincare tip you can eat. They’re packed with skin-loving nutrients that help your glow start from within.

Why Your Skin Loves Blackberries

  • They’re loaded with antioxidants
Blackberries are rich in polyphenols—especially anthocyanins, which help protect your skin from environmental stressors and signs of premature aging. Think of these as your skin’s bodyguards. They fight off the stuff that speeds up aging—like dullness, fine lines, and "why do I look tired?" skin.
  • They’re 85% water
Hydration is key for plump, healthy-looking skin, and these berries deliver. Add them to your summer skincare-from-within routine and watch your glow show up.
  • They’re full of vitamins A, C, and K
Each one plays a role in helping your skin look healthy, rested, and smooth.
    • Vitamin A supports cell turnover for fresher-looking skin.
    • Vitamin C helps boost collagen, making skin feel firmer and more elastic.
    • Vitamin K may help reduce the look of dark circles and improve skin tone—especially around the eyes.

How I Eat Mine (and Yes, I’m Hoarding)

  • Tossed in smoothies
  • Piled high over my homemade pancakes
  • Spooned right over vanilla ice cream. Simple, sweet, and exactly what I needed.

Honestly, it’s part skincare, part joy.

This is truly the time to take advantage of all that blackberry magic. They're only here for a short season—like the friend who shows up, makes everything better, then disappears until next summer.

So grab a pint (or three). Snack. Glow. Repeat.
Blackberries are a quiet powerhouse in your glowing skin diet. And this glow comes from your fruit bowl, not a bottle.

Didn’t your friend recently ask about blackberries?
Send this their way. Or better yet—pick up an extra pint and drop it off like the berry fairy.
