Spring Break Reset: Unplug, Recharge & Make This DIY Body Spritz
Share
Spring break is here, and you know what that means? No schedules. No alarms. No guilt about doing absolutely nothing.
Our son is coming home from university, and I’m so ready for a week of lazy, unstructured family time. We have our traditions—movies, cooking experiments, and just hanging out—but mostly, we just exist together. And honestly? That’s the reset I need.
Movie Nights (Or, How I "Watch" Films in My Sleep)
We all have our spots on the couch. The movie starts. I get cozy… and then, somewhere around the 40-minute mark, I’m out. I wake up right before the credits roll and start making commentary like I’ve been watching the whole thing. My husband and son crack up every time.
It’s a running joke now. But hey—rest is rest, right?
Cooking Up Something New
Spring break is also when we finally try all those recipes we’ve saved (or, in my case, the ones my husband and son have sent me with a “We should make this!”). They usually turn out great. But the best part isn’t the food—it’s being in the kitchen together, making a mess, and laughing through it all.
In the spirit of sharing recipes, here’s a fun DIY Body Spritz to help you refresh and reset for spring. It’s light, uplifting, and a perfect little pick-me-up.
DIY Refreshing Body Spritz
Because smelling good shouldn’t mean spritzing on a toxic cocktail.
You’ll Need:
- 3 oz distilled water – Keeps it light and refreshing.
- 1 oz witch hazel or vodka – Helps blend oils & lightly preserves.
-
15–20 drops essential oils – choose one based on your preference
- Lavender (calming)
- Peppermint (refreshing)
- Rose or geranium (floral and nourishing)
- 1 tsp carrier oil (optional) – Jojoba for extra skin nourishment.
- ½ tsp vegetable glycerin (optional) – Helps the scent last longer.
- 4 oz glass spray bottle – Because glass preserves the oils better.
How to Make It:
- Pour witch hazel or vodka into your bottle.
- Add essential oils and swirl gently.
- Fill with distilled water, leaving a little room at the top.
- (Optional) Add carrier oil and glycerin for extra hydration.
- Shake well. That’s it!
How to Use:
- Shake before spritzing.
- Mist lightly on skin (avoid your face).
- Store in a cool, dark place. Use within 2–3 weeks.
So here’s my spring break plan: Recharge. Laugh. Watch movies (kind of). Eat good food. Nothing fancy. Just rest.
However you’re spending the week, make sure to slow down and soak it in. 💛
